Bio audit checklist — 18 things to fix on a link-in-bio page

A printable scorecard you can run against your own (or a client's) bio page in under 10 minutes.

What's inside

  • 18 items in 3 sectionsFirst impression, link stack, trust
  • Scoring rubricKnow "good" from "great" at a glance
  • Printable + Notion-importableUse your preferred medium
  • Fix-tonight thresholdPull the lever on the obvious wins first

Most link-in-bio pages look fine. They're functional. They load, the links work, the avatar is sharp. And then visitors bounce at 60-70% and you wonder why.

The truth: most link pages are 70% there. The remaining 30% is a small list of fixes that take the page from "looks like a generic Linktree" to "looks like a real brand that someone made on purpose."

This checklist surfaces the 18 fixes that close the gap. You can run it on your own page in under 10 minutes — and on a client's page in even less, because by the third audit the patterns jump out.

What you're actually scoring

The 18 items split into three sections, each owning one part of the visitor's decision:

Section 1 — First impression (6 items)

The first 3 seconds. Visitors decide here whether to scroll, click, or close the tab. Owns: avatar quality, display name vs handle, the headline pattern, optional tag pill, verified mark hygiene, and "is your hero above the fold."

If you fail this section, nothing else matters. People won't scroll far enough to see your link stack.

The actual product. Where 80% of clicks happen. Owns: top-link choice (the most-important destination), intent-based ordering, button copy specificity, link count (turns out 5–8 outperforms 12+), icon consistency, and use of featured cards for high-intent destinations.

This is the section that moves the most metrics when you fix it. Steal patterns from the link-button copy bank.

Section 3 — Trust (6 items)

The signals that decide whether someone clicks the link OR goes back to Instagram to verify you're real. Owns: visible social proof, footer hygiene, no broken links, custom-domain branding, privacy + terms reachable, and page-speed performance.

Trust is what separates pages that convert at 3% from ones that convert at 22%.

How to use it

  1. Open your live page in a separate browser tab.
  2. Run through all 18 items in the printable PDF. Be honest — score yourself 0 for "missing" and 1 for "good."
  3. Total your score out of 18.

Scoring rubric:

  • 18 / 18 — flagship-level. Use it as a template for your next project.
  • 14–17 — solid. The remaining items are 30-minute fixes.
  • 10–13 — needs work. Pull the obvious wins first (Section 1).
  • Under 10 — restart from the 2026 link-in-bio playbook. The structure isn't there yet.

Pro tip — audit three creators in your niche

Don't just audit yourself. Run this on three other creators in your space who you think are crushing it. The patterns jump out — usually the same 4–5 fixes everyone is missing.

If you spot a pattern that nobody in your niche has fixed, that's your opportunity. You're playing a game where everyone's leaving the same 30% on the table.

What you can fix in the next 30 minutes (without reading the PDF)

Even before downloading, here are the three highest-leverage fixes from each section:

  1. Rewrite your headline — replace "Creator · Coffee · Brooklyn" with "I help X do Y." Specificity wins.
  2. Reorder your link stack — the top slot should be your highest-intent destination (newsletter, paid offer), not "Instagram."
  3. Check page speed — run your page through PageSpeed Insights. If you score below 70 on mobile, fix this BEFORE anything else.

Three changes, 30 minutes, measurable lift. The full 18 are in the PDF.
